Vinegar: More than just a pretty smell...ha ha!
Last Sunday, my oldest DD, Jessica came home from Cheer camp that was down in Santa Cruz , California. Not only was she VERY tired but VERY sunburnt. Is that a correct term or is better to say "Lobster Red?" Anyway, I looked in my ever trusty "Kitchen Cures" (the book below) to see what I could do to ease her pain. There were actually several choices such as an oatmeal bath, rubbing "French's Mustard" or mayonnaise and even Desitin which makes sense because it is a diaper rash ointment. I didn't think in her shape that the first three would appeal to her. So I decided on:
Yep!!! The vinegar. The book called for one rag, saturated with white distled vinegar and to gently rub the vinegar over the red areas. Well, she was not too pleased about having it rubbed on her back and shoulders but within 20 mins or so, she mentioned that she much more comfortable and most , if not all the pain was gone.
So there you have it....my testimony to vinegar! It's not just for pickles anymore! :)
Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July holiday everyone. And, most important..... if you see a Vet, tell them "Thank You".
Thanks for stopping by!!

I remember my little sister getting sunburnt sooo bad when I was in my early 20's and I rubbed vinegar all over her and it really helped.
